Ministry of Health Begins Disposal of Expired Pharmaceuticals

Today the Ministry of Health & Wellness began the disposal of expired pharmaceuticals. The Ministry says that pharmaceutical supplies were from the Central Medical Stores facility for the period 2010-2019. Hazardous materials will be disposed of at the Belize Solid Waste Management’s facility at Mile 24 on the George Price Highway, while non-hazardous materials will be dealt with by municipal authorities in the regular means of disposal. The ministry said that the disposal comes after consultation with the Department of Environment, the Ministry of Finance and the Belize Solid Waste Management and Authority.
