Ministry of Health confirms 3rd case of COVID-19 in Belize.

The Ministry of Health has confirmed the third case of COVID-19 in Belize. Nine additional tests were conducted today, and the results were positive for a 38-year-old man with travel history to New York City, USA. He arrived in Belize on March 20 and immediately went into self-isolation. He started showing minor symptoms on March 25 and he sought medical guidance on March 27. This case is being classified as an imported case. The patient remains in self-isolation with minimal symptoms and is stable. The Ministry of Health has started a mapping exercise of the patient and any potential contacts. The Prime Minister will be making a statement tomorrow on new measures to be implemented to prevent the spread of the virus.

The Ministry of Health has confirmed the third case of COVID-19 in Belize. The Director of Health Services Dr. Marvin Manzanero provides brief information on the case.

 

The Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow will be making a statement tomorrow on measures to be implemented in preventing the spread of the virus.
