The COVID-19 tally continues to mount – and in a significant way. The Ministry of Health and Wellness reports this evening that there are one hundred thirty-three new cases of the coronavirus in Belize. While there were a significant number of recoveries, both active cases and fatalities have increased. HECOPAB’s technical advisor, Kathleen Azueta-Cho broke down the latest statistics.
Also on the COVID front, Maud Williams High School announced that its office remains closed until Thursday. This comes after one of its office staff became exposed to the coronavirus. The staff member will be tested and the school will be sanitized. As a result, the collection of learning packages has been postponed until September six.
