Ministry of Public Utilities and Energy Launches National Energy Policy 2023-2040

Today, after months of consultation and hard work, the Ministry of Public Utilities and Energy launched its National Energy Policy 2023 to 2040. The policy, which has been approved by the Cabinet, was unveiled at an energy fair being held in the Cayo District. The policy seeks to address energy reliability and the cost of energy among other issues raised by stakeholders in the sector. Minister of Public Utilities and Energy Michel Chebat says is an important undertaking because as Belize does its part to further reduce its already small carbon footprint, it is also responding to the challenges the country faces.

The fair is being held at the Roaring River Golf Club located in Roaring Creek Village.
