Carl Lamb, a taxi driver of Belize City is recovering from a gunshot wound he sustained over the weekend. ASP Alejandro Cowo, Head of the CIB unit in Belize City told the media this morning that a minor has been charged with the crime.

“On Saturday the 3rd of February 2018 sometime after 4AM police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they observed a male person by the name of Carl Lamb, a 37 year old Belizean taxi driver with an apparent gunshot wound to the left thigh. What police gather so far is that Mr.Lamb had just arrived at this house and was exiting his vehicle when he was approached by a person that was walking, passed beside him and began conversing with him. The person continued walking and he looked at the person in a suspicious manner and thereafter the person started to walk back to his direction. As a result he exited his vehicle and walked to his apartment and upon reaching to his apartment several shots were fired by this male person that caught him to the right thigh. He was admitted to the hospital and then he was later discharged that morning. So far police have detained several persons in regard to this shooting incident. As a result of the shooting incident of Mr.Karl Lamb on Sunday the 4th of February police arrested and charged a minor for the crime of murder and attempted murder. The minor is 15 years old.”
Police continue their investigation.
