The Government of Belize has given schools the green light to return to full capacity, face-to-face learning, come the new academic year, which begins in September. However, with the recent spike of Covid-19 infections, parents are raising concerns about the safety of their children. Today, Love News asked the Minister of State in the Ministry of Education Doctor Louis Zabaneh what the future holds for education, given this challenging set of circumstances. Here’s what he had to say on the issue.
Dr.Louis Zabaneh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education: “When it comes to decisions about opening or closing we work very closely with the Ministry of Health and they are the ones who will give us the medical instructions based on what the situation is in the country. So all in all we now have the vaccines for kids at the primary school age and this is gonna be a big enhancement to allow us to feel more confident when our kids go to school.”
