MOE pledges to assist St. Matthew’s Government School

The Ministry of Education says it will be working in close collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing to ensure the students of St. Matthew’s Government School can promptly, safely, and responsibly return to school as soon as possible.  This morning, Minister of Education, Francis Fonseca, his CEO, and Chief Education Officer, along with Minister of Infrastructure Development and Housing, Julius Espat, and Minister of Sustainable Development, Orlando Habet, visited the school’s compound. The group toured the affected structure and met with the principal, vice principal, and teachers on the way forward for the school. According to a release from the ministry, with a population of 405 students, St. Matthew’s Government School is of critical importance to St. Matthew’s Village and the surrounding communities.
