MOE Says Schools are Prepared to Manage the Spread of Covid-19

While the Ministry of Health and Wellness expects the number of Covid-19 infections to see an increase, the Ministry of Education is confident that they will be able to manage infections within schools.  The new Omicron subvariant, BA. 5, is more transmissible; however, according to the CEO of the Ministry of Education, Dian Maheia, they have learned how to properly adjust and accommodate students and teachers.

Dian Maheia, CEO, Ministry of Education: “We have two years of experience now so within the schools we’ve learned accomodations. We’ve learned how to adjust, how to accommodate our students and our teachers have learned how to live within the confines of the protocols so that mask wearing for example is no longer the issue that we once feared it would be. So we really are confident moving forward that bearing in mind you know we keep in place our three W’s; our wash your hands, wear your mask, watch your distance. That doesn’t go away and combined with the protocols what we also are confident about is that we’ve been working with accomodations we’ve provided options so students and teachers really have learned how to accommodate their teaching. Everyone now understands how to do hybrid teaching. You know you’re more familiar with different distanced learning methods with just varying between face to face and whatever form of distanced learning is available to you.”
