MOESCT working with the MCC to enhance Belize’s education system

The Government of Belize and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) continue to work together toward boosting the country’s economy and reducing poverty. Belize is one of two countries deemed qualified to access financing through the (MCC). In March, GOB and the US-based organization signed a compact agreement that will give the government one point five million Belize dollars to get the ball rolling. Minister of Education, Francis Fonseca, says one of the main areas of focus is education. He says that a team from the MCC is in the country to discuss possible areas where the country’s education system can be enhanced.
