The Ministry of Health has appointed a new Deputy Director of Health Services and Nurse Registrar. Nurse Lisette Belle will be taking up the post of Deputy Director while Eleanor Bennett has taken up the post of Nurse Registrar. Nurse Belle has been working in the health sector since 2008. She takes over from Nurse Ann Matute who has been Acting as the Deputy Director. According to Nurse Matute, there was a selection process conducted by the ministry.
Ann Matute, Acting Deputy Director of Health Services: “Ms.Bell she attended an interview at the Ministry of the Public Service after the position was advertised and out of two applicants she was the best suited applicant for the position.”
Nurse Eleanor Bennett, Registrar, Nursing and Midwives Council: “I know I can add that Ms.Bell has extensive experience in the Ministry of Health as the head of the policy and planning unit, I know she has a masters; she has a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and she has a Master’s and she has been with the Ministry of Health for many many years. I was at the Ministry of Health for eight years and she was there long before I came there. Specific questions about her experience you will have to ask her but as Ms.Matute said that she attended an interview and appeared before a panel and she was selected as the best candidate for the position.”
Nurse Eleanor Bennett comes from the Mental Health Unit to take over as the Nurse Registrar.
