As the threat of COVID-19 becomes more imminent, the Ministry of Health has established a 24-hour hotline that will respond to the concerns of the citizens and that will allow for suspected cases to be swabbed at home and then taken to the lab. This would eliminate the possible exposure of that suspected patient.
Dr.Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services: “We are about to roll out a complete 24 hour phone line for anybody who has a respiratory symptom or anybody who has any kind of concern in terms of COVID-19. We anticipate that we should be able to roll a 24 hour hotline if you will in the next twenty four hours. We already have an emergency operation center and headquarters being manned by nurses and educators that are answering concerns so that people if you have respiratory symptoms we are able to guide you on what the process is going to be because we don’t want everybody who has a respiratory illness to just start to flow into the health system we will guide you through the process and where possible we will go to where you live if we have a strong suspicion that are are a suspect case do the swabbing with you and get back to you with the result and then guide you through that particular process so we have that phone line that I know is working through a dashboard for all the questions that people are going to be having in that regard.”
