MOHW Reports Forty Nine New Cases of COVID-19 in Two Days

Tonight there are three hundred and eighty eight active Covid-19 cases in the country with forty nine new cases detected between July 29 and 30. The recent data out of the Ministry of Health shows seventy one recovered cases and no new deaths have been registered. The ministry has announced the start of its fifth phase in the vaccination process which includes everyone over the age of eighteen but five others remain in the hospital. With the new data, total active cases are at three hundred eighty-eight, twenty-two less than it was yesterday when it tallied over four hundred. What is also noteworthy is that one hundred forty-eight samples are still under investigation. Of the new cases reported this evening, thirty-eight are in Belize District, including twenty-four more new cases in Belize City tonight. There were four cases each in the villages of Crooked Tree and Ladyville. Across the rest of the country, the districts tallied cases in the single digits. There were just three cases in all of the west, another three in the entire south, and five in the north. Meanwhile, the Ministry reports that two thousand seven hundred fourteen people were vaccinated on Thursday bringing total vaccinations to one hundred twenty-eight thousand seven hundred sixty-eight while forty-nine thousand six hundred eighty-one are fully vaccinated. Everyone over the age of eighteen can get their jabs.
