Belize is reporting three hundred and twenty new cases of COVID-19, down from the more than four hundred new cases tallied between the weekend and Monday. However, there was just one fatality, bringing the death toll to four hundred and sixty-six. Active cases stand at two thousand eight hundred and sixty-six. Chief Nursing Officer, Lizett Bell broke down the rest of today’s statistics in this evening’s edition of “Up 2 The Minute”.
On a point of clarification: both the Belize and Stann Creek Districts tallied eighty-six cases each. After all, San Pedro, which recorded fifteen, is geographically in the Belize District. There were 71 cases on the Belize District mainland. Meanwhile, vaccination numbers are continuing on a slow but steady pace as now two hundred and three thousand eight hundred and nineteen people have received the first jab while one hundred sixty-five thousand and forty-two people are fully vaccinated as of Monday.
