MoHW Responds to Fake News

The Ministry of Health and Wellness fired off a press release yesterday in response to articles published by UDP controlled Facebook accounts. The ministry says that information published by these so-called media houses is misleading. The articles alleged hustle of fees for COVID-19 tests done at the land borders. According to the Ministry, only unvaccinated persons who do not submit a negative COVID-19 test are required to submit a test before entering the country. The release says that a cashier is present from Monday to Friday to collect the fee charged and provide an official stamped government receipt at the completion of the transaction. However, on weekends or on any public and bank holidays when no cashier is present, a temporary handwritten receipt is provided and persons are asked to return on the following workday to be issued a government receipt to replace the temporary receipt. The ministry says that regular reconciling and auditing of all test kits and receipts are done by respective regional finance officers countrywide.
