MOHW Revising More Than Fifty COVID-19 Related Deaths

The Epidemiology Unit in the Ministry of Health and Wellness is conducting a thorough review of past cases and deaths for classification. The ministry has recorded more than thirty COVID-19 deaths that were not detected months ago. The ministry is expecting to report more deaths in the coming days and weeks as the review continues. Sharing details is Epidemiologist Dr. Russell Manzanero.

According to Dr. Manzanero, some of the deaths were not recorded because persons died in private health facilities.

Love News asked Dr. Manzanero if this glitch in the process negatively affected the government’s response to the pandemic.

The Ministry recorded 13 new cases. While there are now 126 actives cases, 135 cases are under investigation. Four persons are hospitalized with two persons in the Intensive Care Unit. Fortunately, there are no deaths to report tonight.
