MOHW Says COVID-19 Vaccines for Children Has to be Consensual

The Ministry of Health and Wellness is preparing to receive tens of thousands of pediatric vaccines. Schools across the country are engaging parents to give their consent to have their children vaccinated. However, other schools are telling parents that they MUST have their children vaccinated. We asked BNTU President Elena Smith about it.

Elena Smith, President, BNTU: “Our position has always been that you can’t force, why should you force me to do that kind of thing? So I don’t know what it is that parents will say or do in terms of getting their children vaccinated. We always say get information, learn the facts and then you make your decision as a parent or as an adult.”

Clarifying the matter today was the Director of Health and Wellness Dr Melissa Diaz. Diaz stressed that this is not a mandatory vaccine.
