MOHW Working to Fill Vacant Posts in the Health Sector

Minister Kevin Bernard is well underway in having the vacant seats filled in the Ministry of Health and Wellness. Upon his taking over of the ministry some three months ago, he had encountered several critical posts vacant which had several persons in the ministry overloaded and overwhelmed. In an interview on The Morning Show yesterday, Minister Bernard explained that the vacancies were advertised and the interviews held.

Kevin Bernard, Minister of Health & Wellness: “Interviews were done. The commission has made the approvals and now it’s at the other step where the Ministry of Finance then sends the final approval to the ministry. I think I’m right on target, Rene and Troy, when I first went on the show I said I wanted the Belizean people to give me at least 3 months to get my team in place and I think we are right on target and I’m hoping that by, hopefully, by next week or right after Easter, we should have our full team in place and we’re moving full steam ahead with the list of things that I mentioned earlier.”

Love News understands that once the paperwork is completed, Dr. Marvin Manzanero will officially be the Director of International Cooperation; Dr. Melissa Diaz-Musa will be the Director of Public Health and Wellness, while Dr. Jorge Polanco will operate as the Director of Hospital Services and Allied Health.
