More Pain at the Pumps With Yet Another Fuel Increase

Fuel prices are going up, up, up and motorists will not be happy when they fill their tanks this weekend. The Ministry of Finance reports this evening that come midnight, premium gas will shoot up thirty-four cents from the already high twelve dollars and eleven cents to a whopping twelve dollars and forty-five cents per gallon. Diesel jumps twenty-seven cents from eleven dollars and forty-three cents to eleven dollars and seventy cents. Regular remains at eleven dollars and eighty-three cents and kerosene stays at eight dollars and seventy one cents. Compared to where prices were at the start of the financial year in April, premium has seen a cumulative increase of one dollar and seventy-four cents. At that time, it was selling at eleven dollars and twenty-six cents. Within the last seven months, diesel has jumped one dollar and seventy-four cents from its April figure of nine dollars and ninety-six cents. Since April as well, regular gas has increased by one dollar and fourteen cents altogether. The pump price was ten dollars and sixty-nine cents per gallon. Kerosene has seen the biggest jump of one dollar and eighty-four cents since April, when it was selling at just six dollars and eighty-seven cents per gallon.
