More Than 700 Applicants Sit Police Recruitment Exam

Seven hundred and nineteen applicants sat the Belize Police Department’s recruitment entrance examination on Saturday, July 4, taking the first major step toward possible selection for Squad 99. The examination tested candidates in decision-making, reading comprehension, mathematical reasoning and general knowledge, with applicants required to earn at least sixty percent to advance.  However, passing the written examination will not automatically secure a place in the next stage of the process. Love News understands that it will take three to four weeks to check the written tests.  Those who meet the required mark on the test will then undergo a character vetting and medical assessments before moving on to the physical component. The department says the multi-stage process is intended to ensure that only suitable and qualified candidates are selected for police training.
