Mother and Child Traumatized in San Pedro Home Invasion and Assault

A woman was attacked while she slept in her bed with her 6-year-old daughter.  On Saturday morning at around one o’clock, the rapist broke into the home in the San Marcus area of San Pedro Town.  The victim was alerted when she felt someone on top of her.  Reports say that the rapist covered the woman’s mouth, but the child was awoken, and began crying.  The man then gagged the child, and took the mother to another room where he raped her, after tying her hands.  Investigators responded to the house after, and found that the rapist gained entry into the home through a side window.  A medical examination has since been carried out on the victim where trauma injuries have been observed.  Police are looking to view surveillance footage from the area.
