The Ministry of Health and Wellness reports tonight that another 159 new cases of COVID-19 were reported coupled with four additional deaths. The good news is that 227 more Belizeans are recovered but there are still 32 who are in hospital, including 17 in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Tonight’s figures are the second consecutive day where a decline in new cases is seen when compared to recent weeks where a weekend tally would range between four to six hundred. In speaking with the President, Dr Uldine Wright and former President of the Belize Medical and Dental Association, Dr Andre Joel Cervantes, they say that despite the very recent decline Belize could face a peak in Covid-19 cases later this month.
Dr Wright further stated that while they have made several recommendations to the Government, it is they who have the last say on how the Covid-19 situation is handled.
