“We have the indoor FIBA approved sport court which is a full wooden court with the padded cushion sleepers underneath and that will also come with the protective covering that they can put out for whenever they are hosting events not using the court. We see the backboards very similar layout to what you all have seen so far in Dangriga and the bleacher seating around us which the molded seating that sits between 800-900 and then with the floor court seating up to 1,000. We have the locker rooms, we have the changing rooms, ticket booths, we have the front entrance concession areas and all the other facilities needed to host a big event in this area. We have ample extra space space because we believe that the sports council will be moving their offices into this area so they can manage both this facility as well as the football facility that has been open for almost a year now.”
The building costs approximately three point four million dollars with additional contingency funds to complete the landfill, drainage, and civil works now underway. A soft opening will be held this weekend while the official ceremonies will be held on Friday November 17.
