Municipal Councils Begin Swearing in Across Belize

The swearing-in of the recently elected municipal councils has already begun.  Out west this afternoon, Earl Trapp and his council were sworn in at the San Ignacio/Santa Elena Town Council.   The ceremony was at two o’clock this afternoon.  Love News understands that Patrick Faber, Darrell Bradley, Alberto August, Omar Figueroa, and the Leader of the Opposition were present at the event.  Meanwhile, further out west in Benque Viejo del Carmen, the new council is being sworn in at this hour.  Taking place tonight as well is the swearing in of the Orange Walk Town Council which will be preceded by a motorcade from Liberty Avenue to the Central Park where the ceremony will take place.  In the culture capital, Dangriga, Robert Mariano and his council will be sworn in tomorrow evening.  In Belmopan, the swearing in ceremony is set for Tuesday afternoon at three o’clock at the Mae Gordon Park.  We are on have coverage of these ceremonies in subsequent newscasts.
