Municipalities Across Belize Raise Flags to Kick Off September Celebrations

Municipalities across the country marked the opening of the September Celebrations today with the ceremonial raising of the Belizean flag. All over the country, Mayors and municipal representatives gathered at six a.m., with members of the Belize Defense Force and other entities to mark the occasion. In the capital city, Belmopan, Mayor Sharon Palacio used the opportunity to speak on the events residents can expect during the celebrations.

Last month the National Celebrations Commission issued a digital calendar of events for this year’s National Celebrations, detailing activities countrywide for Belizeans to enjoy.
