National Health Insurance Registration to open Soon for Belmopan Residents

Residents of Belmopan will have the opportunity to register for national health insurance as NHI will be rolling out in the coming weeks.  Area Representative Oscar Mira made the announcement over the weekend as the city celebrated its 53rd anniversary.  According to Mira, there are many plans in the pipeline to improve the quality of life for those in the capital city.

Oscar Mira, Area Representative,Belmopan: “It’s huge. It’s really really huge. The Cayo district is going to get NHI. Belmopan is going to be one of the first areas to get the national health insurance. I am thinking November/ December should be fully rolling out NHI here in Belmopan. It’s about Plan Belize, it’s about ensuring that our residents get the benefits of NHI, it is for the citizens of Belmopan and actually it’s gonna be rolled out countrywide sooner or later. We have seen San Pedro just rolled out their NHI and now it’s coming to the Cayo district and Belmopan is going to get their share of NHI making sure the health services are available and affordable to everyone.”
