National Sports Council Prepares to Launch Mobile App for Fundraising and Athlete Support

The National Sports Council (NSC) is preparing to launch a new mobile application to help raise much-needed funds. Director of the NSC Iris Centeno says that the app is the brainchild of Minister of Sports Rodwell Ferguson, to help the council support Belize’s athletes. Centeno says that she had ambitious plans when she took the directorship of the council last year, but quickly realized that the funds were not there to make them happen.

The NSC held a meeting last week with various sports federations and associations to familiarize them with the app. Centeno says that Minister Ferguson is preparing to make a presentation about the app to Cabinet next week.
