National Village Database Project Launched in Belize

The National Village database project in Belize is well underway. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has signed an agreement with The Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labor, and Local Government to get started on the project.  The goal is to create profiles of 192 villages in the country to document areas of concern and needs. The Head of IOM in Belize, Diana Locke, spoke about the importance of the undertaking.

IOM hopes to work with the Vital Statistics Unit and the National Association of Village Councils to access various aspects of rural life.
