National Women’s Commission Urges Businesses to Support Gender Equality This Women’s Month

As Belize celebrates National Women’s Month, the National Women’s Commission is calling on businesses across the country to play an active role in supporting women’s rights and fostering gender equality. March is celebrated as Women’s Month in Belize as a time to honor the women who have and continue to build the nation. The National Women’s Commission is the body that coordinates the events along with various government departments and non-governmental organizations. Today, the commission’s President Thea Garcia Ramirez spoke about the importance of the month and the need for entities to do their part, particularly as the country’s eyes are fixed on the general elections. 

Garcia-Ramirez added that the commission continues to work toward achieving gender equality and empowering women for a better future
