NDACC Raises Alarm on Alcohol and Marijuana Abuse in Belizean Youth

The National Drug Abuse Control Council (NDACC) is advising parents to keep a close eye on their children after observing an uptick in alcohol and marijuana abuse in youth. The organization has noticed an increase in marijuana consumption among persons ages 24 and younger, based on data collected through its various outreach programs. The council says that the issue is alarming, but reminds the public that it offers assistance free of cost to persons who are in need of help. NDACC’s Director, Esner Romero, spoke about how parents can observe changes in their child’s behavior that may be the result of drug or alcohol use.
