NEMO Partners with US Task Force for Hurricane Preparedness Training

With hurricane season fast approaching, the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) partnered with the United States Joint Task Force Bravo to provide a training session for stakeholders and media personnel in the event of a hurricane. The session took place at Price Barracks today where stakeholders were trained on media relations during humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions. National Emergency Coordinator, Daniel Mendez, spoke to Love News about the importance of this training. 

Deputy Director of Operations at Joint Task Force Bravo, based in Honduras, Lieutenant Colonel Eric Penny spoke about the services that they are going to provide to Belize in case of an emergency. 

Penney added that they will also be working on building relationships with hospitals, local municipalities, police units, and other government organizations.
