NEMO re-strategizing its efforts to assist victims of Hurricane Lisa

The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) is re-strategizing its efforts to provide disaster relief to residents affected by Hurricane Lisa. Today, the organization held a meeting at its headquarters in Belmopan to identify ways it can close the gaps in its system. NEMO’s National Coordinator Retired Lieutenant Colonel Shelton Defour says he is cognizant that the supplies are not being distributed fast enough to those most indeed. According to Defour, NEMO is looking to add more boots on the ground to bolster the efforts of its supplies and relief committee.

Defour further explained that NEMO’s national shelter and housing committee is working with individual ministries to identify and assist public officers who were impacted by the storm.
