New Cell Phone Repair Training for Women Launches in PG

A skills training program aimed at empowering women and addressing a national shortage of mobile phone technicians was officially launched in Punta Gorda. The “Cell Phone Repair Training for Women in Belize” is a collaborative effort led by the Ministry of Investment’s Investment Policy and Compliance Unit (IPCU), in partnership with the Taiwan Technical Mission, the Ministry of Human Development, Family Support and Gender Affairs, the Punta Gorda Town Council, and the Toledo Community College. This initiative focuses on equipping women with technical skills in cleaning, maintenance, and repair of mobile devices, offering them a pathway to self-employment. Love News spoke with Daniella Guerrera who explained more about the training.

The program specifically targets southern Belize, where access to formal training in mobile phone repair has been lacking.
