Dr. Louis Zabaneh has committed to cracking down on the enforcement of laws related to the transportation sector. Dr. Zabaneh is the recently installed Minister of Transportation who has completed a familiarization tour of the facilities countrywide. During today’s Morning Show, he chimed in on the discussions and indicated that he has met with his national transport team. He stated that he has made it clear that inefficiencies and corruption will not be condoned or tolerated.
Dr.Louis Zabaneh, Minister of Transport: “I have already met with the leadership of the Transport Department, north, south, east and west, and I’ve made it abundantly clear to them that we are here to do our work. It means then that we have to identify our staff who need additional training, give them the opportunities to become the best that they can be and for those who just can’t make the cut they will need to go. I am making it very clear. Everybody gets an opportunity. Everybody gets a fair chance but you’re not going to be there because somebody put you there and then you’re incompetent. We’re not going to be entertaining that kind of thing. So we want everybody to straighten up. And again, we don’t mean that you go and become excessive now. You have to be balanced. And that’s why training is so important. So I wanted to get this opportunity to share that in no uncertain terms it’s going to be a challenge, but if we do it together as a nation, I believe that we can become successful in this endeavor.”
