
NEXGEN Supports Education with Backpacks and Internet Scholarships Initiative

The cable and internet service provider, NEXGEN, is supporting education through an initiative to deliver backpacks and internet scholarships to students in various parts of country. NEXGEN said that a total of four hundred backpacks were distributed to throughout Belize City, Belmopan, Benque Viejo del Carmen, San Ignacio, Punta Gorda, Dangriga, Placencia, and Independence, through the company’s various branch offices. Forty students and their families will also receive 50 megabytes per second internet free of charge for a year. Bags and scholarships were also given to students in San Jose Succotz San Ignacio/Santa Elena, Bullet Tree Falls, Camalote and the periphery areas of Belmopan. The company said that it partnered with various organizations such as the Rotary Club of Belize and various community-minded citizens for the initiative. NEXGEN’s Marketing manager, Karen Novelo, said that the initiative is, quote, “another example of NEXGEN’s commitment to empower the next generation of learners by providing these young minds with the resources to unlock their potential”, end of quote.
