Moving now to the health sector; progress is being made in putting together the National Health Insurance program as was promised by this administration. What we found interesting is that the powers that be under the NHI Scheme had all served as a CEO at one point in the public service. Tonight, we can tell you that Dr Marco Tulio Mendez has been dubbed the NHI Chairman. Dr Mendez was poised to take up the post of CEO in the Ministry of Health at the start of the Briceno administration, but that decision was pulled back. Meanwhile, Dr Deysi Mendez who served as CEO in the Ministry of Health has been given the post of NHI Consultant and Dr Ramon Figueroa who served as CEO in the Ministry of Health under the previous administration has been given the post of NHI Director. While our newsroom had gotten information that Dr Melissa Diaz-Musa would be given the post of Director of Public Health and Wellness, we were able to confirm that a decision for that post is yet to be finalized. We further found out that Dr Diaz-Musa has applied for two director postings but interviews are yet to take place. Currently, the three posts that the Ministry of Health is looking to fill are for the Director of Hospital Services and Allied Health; the Director of Public Health and Wellness and the Deputy Director of Public Health and Wellness.
