A group of nine persons including a theologist appeared in Belize City Magistrate’s Court on a charge of drug trafficking. 41-year-old Victor Lara, a tour guide along with his common-law wife, 40-year-old, Breea Sanker; an American national of SpringField Missouri, 34-year-old, Alex Salazar; a resident of San Pedro, 42-year-old Sebastian Young, tour-guide and boat captain of San Pedro, 25-year-old Marcus Nunez, Joslyn Daniels and a bartender, 28-year-old, Hilberto Hoare, a Manager, and 30-year-old Camille Bodden, an unemployed resident of Saint Joseph Street, 24-year-old Errol Sebastian, a resident of Nanche Street in Belmopan were all jointly charged. The charge levied was possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply eighty-nine grams of cannabis. At today’s police press brief, Superintendent Alejandro Cowo spoke about the incident.
Superintendent Alejandro Cowo, Head of Crimes Investigation Branch: “Somewhere in the Bayside area of San Pedro they conducted a house search of a house which was occupied by I believe ten persons and as a result, about 89 grams of cannabis was found inside the room. I believe that out of the ten persons, nine persons were arrested and charged for drug trafficking.”
In court, they all pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $2,000 plus surety of the same amount. The case was adjourned to October 16, 2019 in San Pedro.
