Reports of the Prime Minister announcing the date for general elections and dissolving the House in today’s meeting surfaced over this past week. However, today’s House Meeting went without any such announcement and there is still questions as to when this year’s elections will be held. Leader of the Opposition, John Briceno, from briefly speaking on the matter.

John Briceno, Leader of the Opposition, People’s United Party: “If we were to listen to the rumor mill it seems that probably today might be the last house meeting for this five year term – I said if we hear to the rumor mills I’m not saying it is like that. Give me an opportunity Madam Speaker to thank the voters of Orange Walk Central who had given me the opportunity to represent them these past five years it. It is a great privilege for me to represent them and God willing I will get their support once again whenever the elections are called.”
Several sources to our newsroom have reported that the general election will be on Wednesday, November 4. We will keep you posted.
