Northern Belize Prepares for Possible Flooding from Hurricane Beryl

The country’s north is expected to receive the most impact if the hurricane remains on the projected path. This could spell bad news for the northern districts as both riverine and urban flooding may be sparked by incoming rains. The National Emergency Management Organization is now paying keen attention to the situation. This evening, NEMO’s National Coordinator Daniel Mendez spoke about the possibility and the organization’s efforts to limit instances of emergency evacuations.

Mendez noted that the extent of flooding remains fluid.
