Not Guilty Verdict in Ammunition Charges for Elmer Nah, Epifania Caliz, and Manuel Caliz

Not Guilty – that is the ruling handed down today for Elmer Nah, his spouse, Epifania Caliz and his brother-in-law, Manuel Caliz.  Nah was facing ammunition charges stemming from November 2021 when 139 rounds of .223 police-issued ammunition found in a vehicle that the trio was traveling in.  The ruling was handed down just before midday today by Justice Baja Shoman.  Attorney Dickie Bradley, who represented Epifania Caliz, spoke to the media outside the courtroom, saying that the verdict comes as no surprise.

While this not guilty verdict may represent some relief in today’s ruling, it may be short-lived, as the prosecutor, Alifa Elrington, says they are contemplating an appeal.

For context, Elmer Nah is the former GSU Cop who stands accused of aiding in the landing of a plane in the Bladen area in November 2021.  His name was brought up again in December 2022 as the man who carried out a hit on Vivian, David and Jon Ramnarace in Belmopan.  Those matters remain as live cases in the Belize High Court.
