NSUB, BEWU, and BWU stand in solidarity with NTUCB

The BEWU Urges Officials to Heed NTUCB's Demands

The National Student Union of Belize (NSUB) also stated in their press release that they stand in solidarity with the National Trade Union Congress of Belize (NTUCB) in regards to their list of demands to the Government.

The National Student Union of Belize (NSUB) also stated in their press release that they stand in solidarity with the National Trade Union Congress of Belize (NTUCB) in regards to their list of demands to the Government. As you may recall these demands include funding for both the UNCAC Steering Committee and the Integrity Commission; the removal of John Saldivar from the Public Accounts Committee and for that Committee to resume its meetings; and for the government to promptly being the Auditor General’s Annual Report for 2013-14 and 2014-15 to Parliament for revision. The Belize Energy Workers Union (BEWU) also joins NTUCB on these demands. They are taking it a step further by asking for GOB to heed to the demands before the sitting of the House of Representatives, which is currently scheduled for March 5. They are also asking for Belizeans to educate themselves about these critical items and to make a stand to end poor governance and the vile corruption that plagues the nation. Finally, the Belize Workers Union (BWU) also declared their support via a press release. They stated, quote, “The Laborers of our beloved nation… are tired of bearing the costs of corruption.” End quote. They are demanding better for the people of Belize in the form of the NTUCB’s various demands.
