NTUCB says the BBA needs to stand their ground

And, while the BBB feels the bus owners should be merging, the NTUCB says the bus owners should stand their ground. The NTUCB is standing in solidarity with the Belize Bus Association and fully supports their fight. Last night, the executive bodies of both organizations met to discuss areas of mutual concern that they could work together to address. NTUCB President Luis Luke Martinez explained that the union felt it was necessary to support the BBA given the circumstances.

The president of the BBA, Thomas Shaw, has stated that the association remains ready to strike if their request is not fulfilled, despite meeting with the government to prevent such actions. Martinez says that if the bus owners strike, the NTUCB will support them and may even join in the industrial action.
