Celebrations for Nurses Week 2025 kicked off today with various activities at healthcare facilities across the country. The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), which has over two hundred nurses, kicked off the celebrations today with a celebratory mass at the hospital chapel. The KHMH also issued awards to nurses for various departments within the hospital for their exemplary service. Nurse Kesilyn Lizama, assistant unit manager at the maternity ward, said that the celebration of Nurses Week is all about assuring nurses that they matter and assuring that someone is advocating for their cause.
The KHMH has several activities planned throughout the week for its nurses. Nursing Supervisor Kereen Brich shared some of those plans with us.
Nurses Week began today and will run until May 12, which also marks the celebration of International Nurses Day
