The Belize Police department continues to investigate the murder of 35-year-old Desmond Lewis, who was killed on Thursday morning in Belize City. Today ACP Joseph Myvett, Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch spoke of the case.

“Thursday the 28th December sometime around 2:40 AM police responded to 106 Antelope Street Extension Belize City where they observed the lifeless body of Desmond Lewis, a 35-year-old Belizean teacher of a Dangriga address with a large cut wound to the neck and he was motionless. The scene was processed and his body was transported to the KHMH. Police have since commenced an investigation into this matter.”
According to police, one person was detained and questioned.
