Opposition Leader Supports SSB Investment in Distillery, Embraces Belizean Cultural Pride

In an interesting turn of events, one man who didn’t raise an issue in the SSB investment in a distillery was the Leader of the Opposition, Moses Barrow.  Barrow, in his press conference today, told the media that he has come to understand and embrace that liquor is a part of Belize’s pride and joy.

It is to be noted that while the opposition’s statements were based on the premise that the distilled products would be for local consumption, SSB did indicate that the business plan is for exported commodities.
