And, to end this segment we bring you the response from the opposition leader to Prime Minister Briceno when he spoke of Shyne Barrow having an attention deficit disorder.
Moses “Shyne” Barrow, Leader of the Opposition: “One of the telling moments of the Prime Minister’s interview in which you know he made a mockery of people that suffer with disabilities, I hope to see a press release from the Special Envoy who used to teach special needs people – “
Reporter: He said you have a disability.
Moses “Shyne” Barrow, Leader of the Opposition: “Yes and that is not something to take lightly, to make a mockery of people who do have that attention disorder. But what was telling about the interview was when he in this context of the passports referred to Belizean citizens as consumers. He as a business person the cable company, Smart, the gas stations he is looking at being Prime Minister as strictly business and no good government will be able to serve the people of this country if all they care about is dollars and cents and profit margins. That is not solely the responsibility of the state. The state has to have guardrails. The state has to have safety net for the citizens that elected them.”
