Orange Walk businessman robbed at gunpoint in Belize City

Police in Belize City are investigating an armed robbery that took place in the St. Martin’s area. According to police, just before midday, 32-year-old Chandra Prakash stopped at CK Supermarket on Mahogany Street to do a cash pickup. Upon exiting the establishment, Prakash says he was approached by two men, riding separate bicycles. One of the assailants then brandished a firearm, pointed it at Prakash, and demanded the businessman hand over his knapsack. One of the thieves then removed Prakash’s bag which contained twenty thousand dollars, fifteen thousand dollars in cheques, and an Apple IPad. The culprits then rode off in the direction of Mahogany Street making good their escape.
