Orange Walk Mourns Loss of Community Leader Yvette Liu Torres

The town of Orange Walk is mourning the passing of Yvette Liu Torres, a prominent figure known for her community service and political engagement with the United Democratic Party (UDP). A former mayoral candidate, Torres had been battling cancer and her death has deeply affected her family, friends, and the local political community. Torres was highly regarded for her dedication to improving the town and promoting civic engagement. Her legacy, especially within the community, is being remembered. Love News spoke to the Managing Director of the Love Foundation, Deborah Sewell-Erskine on the impact Torres made on the lives of others. 

In addition to her political contributions, Yvette Liu Torres was admired for her compassion and tireless efforts to support those in need. Her work extended beyond politics, touching the lives of many through various charitable initiatives and community projects. Whether advocating for better local services or fostering a sense of unity among residents, Torres was a figure who brought people together, making Orange Walk a better place to live.

Her funeral service will take place on October 17 at 2pm at La Inmaculada Catholic Church in Orange Walk.
