Orange Walk Resident’s last cycle ride was deadly

An Orange Walk resident was the victim of a fatal traffic accident that occurred before 9 on Sunday night. John Triminio was riding a motorcycle from Corozal to Orange Walk and he lost control of the cycle before he reached the Town. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvett says he lost his life between miles 71 and 72

ACP Joseph Mvett: “Orange Walk Police were called to the Northern Regional Hospital where they observed a hispanic male with head and body injuries who was being attended to. His name was learned to be John Tremenios of a Boundary Road address in Orange Walk Town. Our investigation show that the deceased was along with another male person, both traveling on separate motorcycles from the direction of Corozal towards Orange Walk. When reaching between mile 71 and 72 on the Philip Goldson Highway he apparently lost control of the motorcycle which caused him head and body injuries. Most of the districts have implemented or continued with their highway patrol programs. Many of us who travel the roads at night would see the number of motorcycles on the highways. Some are not properly lighted and much care is not exercised by these motorcycle drivers hence putting other drivers in danger so yes it is serious concern and we are taking steps by additional patrols and yes they were socializing. I cannot say at this point in time whether or not alcohol was a factor or not. That will be determined at the post mortem.”
