Forty-seven-year-old salesman of Orange Walk Town Michael Escalante was robbed and killed yesterday evening. The salesman was conducting business in the vicinity of the Cayo District when he was targeted by robbers who shot him to the head and dumped his body on the side of the road near mile thirty-three on the George Price Highway. The culprits reportedly escaped in Escalante’s Wingle Pickup truck and are yet to be found. Love news spoke to Manual Escalante the victim’s brother who said it came to the family as a complete shock.
Manuel Escalante, Brother of Victim: “He was a good child, good son, good everything. He was friendly with everybody, everybody. He was always laughing. He was very good, a very good brother.”
Less than two months ago Escalante was robbed of his licensed firearm, an undisclosed amount of cash, and his 2020 Wingle pickup truck, which was later found abandoned in the Spanish Lookout Community.
