55-year-old, Orlando Jones, who was remanded to prison on a charge of sexually assaulting a minor, is now out on bail. Jones appeared in the Belize High Court on Friday along with his attorney Dale Cayetano, for his bail hearing before Justice Natalie Creary Dixon. With no objection from the prosecution, bail was granted in the sum of eight thousand dollars plus one surety of the same or two sureties of four thousand dollars each. As part of the conditions of his bail, Jones must surrender his passport, sign in at a designated police station once a week, and stay a minimum of a hundred yards away from the alleged victim. Jones is due back in court on January 31, 2025. We note that an eleven-year-old girl in the company of her grandmother made the report against Jones back in June. Jones had eluded police for almost four months before eventually surrendering himself to police on October 8. While Jones was at large his own sister who resides in the United States, offered a thousand-dollar reward for information leading to his arrest.
